Water Emergency Issues and MFOP Claim
- Curtiss Wright vs. The Town of East
Hampton, Appellate Division, 442 N.Y.S. 2d 125 See page 129 at [8].
East Hampton, like Montauk, is a discrete aquifer surrounded by salt water. The
Montauk system was failing because of overburdenment as of 1998 when a pipeline
was connected at Napeague. On the basis of that connection, a huge
accelleration of development has occurred as the system has been extended and
new construction allowed to be connected. The problem is, however, that
there is no water at the other end of the pipe!
